Our Decarbonization Roadmap

Our Decarbonization Roadmap

We are taking significant steps in our decarbonization journey for a sustainable future. Our decarbonization roadmap aims to minimize environmental impacts by transforming its processes. In this context, we focus on key elements such as the transition to low‑carbon energy, increasing the use of secondary aluminium, resource efficiency, and alow‑emission primary aluminium production.

Through our roadmap, we aim to reduce our carbon emissions to 7 tCO2e/t by 2030, reach 3 tCO2e/t by 2035, and achieve net‑zero carbon by 2050.

Our roadmap includes concrete targets such as improving our measurement and reporting infrastructure, increasing secondary aluminium capacity, and implementing renewable energy projects by 2025. By 2030, we plan to increase the share of low‑carbon primary aluminium products and expand our energy efficiency projects. By 2050, we aim to achieve full electrification and reach our carbon‑neutral targets.

In this process, we balance our Scope 2 emissions through I-REC certificates obtained through our renewable energy generated by our hydroelectric power plant in Manavgat and our solar power plant in Karaman. In addition, we aim to reduce our Scope 3 emissions by increasing the use of secondary aluminium and accelerating the transition to a circular economy in collaboration with our customers.

With our decarbonization roadmap, we prioritize not only environmental sustainability but also economic and social benefits. On this journey, we will continue to lead the sector with innovative technologies and green financing solutions.

We continue to strive for a more sustainable world by producing the future without wasting it.
